A Modern Kadampa Meditation Centre for Cape Town and Beyond

Tushita Kadampa Meditation Centre
Tushita Kadampa Meditation Centre in Cape Town is a member of The New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU), an international association of Mahayana Buddhist study and meditation centres founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso in 1991 to offer the practical wisdom of Kadampa Buddhism to the people of our modern world. Through Geshe Kelsang’s tireless activities and kindness there are now over 1200 centres and groups offering Buddha’s wisdom advice to people in 40 countries across the world.

Everyone welcome
Tushita KMC provides a spiritual home to a wide community of people from all walks of life, including ordained monks and nuns. Everyone is welcome to visit this beautiful, blessed environment, and find a place of refuge from the stress and difficulties of busy, modern life. Feel free to try any of our meditation classes, courses or retreats, and meet like-minded people. Discover for yourself that Buddhism and meditation offer solutions to your problems that really work and answers to your questions that cannot be found anywhere else.

Volunteering
Tushita KMC is entirely run by volunteers, and without volunteers it would be impossible for the Centre to exist. Volunteering for an organisation that is dedicated solely to benefiting others is a very rewarding experience and a way to quickly meet many interesting people. You will often learn new skills and get a different perspective on yourself and others. Many people feel that volunteering gives more meaning to their life. If you wish to help in any way please feel free to talk to any of the managers of the Centre.

If we are helping Dharma Centres, then in reality we are helping all sentient beings; we are giving happiness to all sentient beings.
