In our modern world suffering is increasing everywhere and it’s easy to become disconnected from inner peace, joy and kindness. Buddha showed how, by growing our compassion for others we can quickly protect ourself from suffering. This development simultaneously awakens our potential for enlightenment and enables us to really make a difference by helping others to find freedom from their suffering. We all need this now more than ever.
At the South African National Festival, Gen Rabten, the National Spiritual Director of Australasia and South East Asia, will grant the empowerment of Avalokiteshvara – the Buddha of Compassion and give teachings on how to develop our compassion.
He will also share special teachings and insights of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche on how to engage in this practice according to the very blessed instructions in Mirror of Dharma with Additions.
The benefits of engaging in this practice are immeasurable. Through sincerely practising these instructions we can first solve our own daily problems by controlling our desire, anger and ignorance. Then, with this ability, we can lead people throughout the world to permanent freedom from suffering and to the real meaning of human life.
