This Privacy Policy tells you what to expect when Tushita Kadampa Meditation Centre, Cape Town (TKMC) collects personal information.

Collecting Personal Information

When you visit the website, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with the Site, and information necessary to process your purchases. • Purpose of collection: to provide products or services to you to fulfill our contract, to process your payment information, arrange for shipping, and provide you with invoices and/or order confirmations, communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud, and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

• Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor WooCommerce and Payfast

Customer support information

• Examples of Personal Information collected: name and email address.
• Purpose of collection: to provide customer support.
• Source of collection: collected from you.

E-newsletter

TKMC uses a third party provider, Sender.net, to deliver our e-newsletters. Statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs help us to monitor and improve our e-newsletter.

Photos taken during events or day visits to TKMC

Images may be captured during events organised and hosted by TKMC charity using film photography, digital photography, video or other medium and may be used on the website, event publicity or brochures, other publicity material (such as internal and external newsletters), and may be provided to the media for publication in local or national newspapers or magazines and other resources. TKMC acknowledges its responsibilities in capturing images by photography or other means under applicable law.

If you do not consent to use of your images you must inform reception when you arrive at the centre otherwise TKMC will assume you consent to use of your image.

People who email us

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is used to encrypt and protect email traffic in line with government standards. If your email service does not support TLS, you should be aware that any emails we send or receive may not be protected in transit.

We monitor any emails sent to us, including file attachments, for viruses or malicious software. Please be aware that you have a responsibility to ensure that any email you send is within the bounds of the law.

Minors

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not intentionally collect Personal Information from children. If you are the parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us at the address below to request deletion.

We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfil our contracts with you, as described above. For example:
