Description

This series of meditation classes offers a unique approach to understanding the intricacies of human relationships through the lens of Buddha’s teachings. We will explore how our connections with others - both positive and difficult - provide fertile ground for cultivating wisdom and compassion. Through guided meditations we learn how we can transform unhelpful views, develop positive intentions and abandon negative actions. Some of the topics included in this series are:

- Interdependence: Understanding the interconnectedness of all beings and how we depend upon each other.
- Attachment and Renunciation: Cultivating non-attachment without sacrificing loving-kindness.
- Compassion and Empathy: Developing the capacity to understand and respond to the suffering of others with genuine care.
- Dealing with Conflict: Understanding the root of our problems with others and how to remove it.
- Forgiveness and Self-Forgiveness: Healing past hurts and cultivating inner peace through the practice of forgiveness.

The classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. No prior meditation experience is necessary.

GUIDED MEDITATION

Each class begins with guided breathing meditation to help let go of distractions and settle the mind into an experience of inner peace.

BUDDHIST TEACHING

The teacher will then give practical advice, based on the topic of the class, explaining how we can integrate Buddha's timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.

DISCUSSION

The class will conclude with a second guided meditation to help us take the teaching to heart. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
