Description

In today’s busy world, stress can easily affect our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and sense of wellbeing. Buddhist meditation offers practical tools for meeting life’s challenges with greater calm, clarity, and compassion.

A Peaceful Heart in Stressful Times is a welcoming course of meditation classes introducing simple meditation practices and Buddhist teachings for everyday life. Through guided meditation, teachings, and discussion, you will learn how to:

• Relax the body and settle the mind
• Work skilfully with stress
• Develop greater patience and emotional balance
• Let go of unhelpful thought patterns
• Cultivate kindness toward yourself and others
• Find a meaningful direction in life

No previous meditation experience is required. Whether you are new to Buddhism or looking to deepen an existing practice, these classes offer a supportive space to discover a more peaceful way of meeting the pressures of life.

Join us to explore how a peaceful heart can be cultivated—even in stressful times.

Meditation Class Format

GUIDED MEDITATION

Each class begins with guided breathing meditation to help let go of distractions and settle the mind into an experience of inner peace.

BUDDHIST TEACHING

The teacher will then give practical advice, based on the topic of the class, explaining how we can integrate Buddha's timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.

DISCUSSION

The class will conclude with a second guided meditation to help us take the teaching to heart. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
