Every action we perform leaves an imprint on our mind that in time will give rise to an effect. Negative actions lead to painful experiences in the future, and positive actions to pleasant experiences. We have created many, negative actions in the past, and these will create problems for us either in this life, or in lives to come.
However, by engaging in the purification practice of Buddha Vajrasattva we can purify all the imprints of negative actions so that we won’t have to experience their results. Of all the purification practices Buddha taught, the meditation and recitation practice of Buddha Vajrasattva is most powerful. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to start the new year with a deep purification focusing on this practice.
